Located on the slopes of Mount Monduli at 1,600–1,800 meters above sea level, Mondul Estate is a historic farm in northern Tanzania committed to sustainable and responsible agriculture. It provides its workers with housing, access to healthcare and education, pays wages 20% above the legal minimum, and actively contributes to the protection of local forests and wildlife.
Ripe cherries are delivered to the mill within six hours of picking, then sorted, de-pulped, and fermented in tanks supplied by a natural spring. The water is recycled before disposal, and the cherry pulp is composted with worms to produce organic fertiliser, which is reused on the farm. After washing and final sorting, the coffee is dried on raised African beds for about seven days before being hulled in Moshi and exported via Dar es Salaam.
